YSCH to YSNF . C182T Long Range Test

Postby Age » Tue Nov 25, 2014 2:32 am

I gave the A2A C182 T a long range test today from Coffs Harbour to Norfolk Island, A total distance of 776nm , Departing with full tanks (239 Litres ) I arrived in Norfolk Island with 114 Litres of fuel remaining , I cruised at 11500 ft and had a very light tail wind of around 5 knots for most of the flight using real weather .

A total fuel burn of 215 Litres , Leaned out and with a MP of 17" and 2000 RPM I am very happy with the long range capabilities of this aircraft , Its a joy to fly and having Accu-Sim adding real time wear to the engine and frame , it will be interesting for me to see how it performs in the long term , Currently I have 21 hours of this aircraft since new.

I don't mind these long flights when I have a fair bit to get done elsewhere as i can set the AP once at cruise and then rejoin the flight hours later for descent and landing.

A few shots from flight , not a great deal to see on route. 8-)
